Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

I've had BT Infinity for around a month now having moved over from TalkTalk, but am not experiencing the speeds I'd been hoping for. Wondering if anyone out there can offer some advice for me. Sorry if there's a bit of information overload below but I wanted to make sure I post all the relevant info I can get.

Smart Hub Info

Product name: BT Hub 6A

Firmware version: SG4B1000223E
Firmware updated: 25-Nov-2016
Data rate: 5.38 kbps / 30.48 kbps
Maximum data rate: 5382 / 30477
Noise margin: 6 / 5.5
Line attenuation: 22.9

BT Wholesale Test Results
Download speed achieved during the test was - 26.63 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 20.65 Mbps-29.5 Mbps (have to be clear I'm not sure why this is so slow)
IP Profile for your line is - 29.5 Mbps

Can anyone tell anything from the info I've posted up, or give me ideas of things to check? I just feel that things should be faster than they are with my Infinity package. Thanks in advance for any guidance you folks can offer 🙂

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

Connect to the test socket and repost the HH stats and also try a quiet line test. 17070 option 2.

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

Quiet test does sound quiet.

Connecting via the test socket gives me these results:

Downstream sync speed: 30.55 Mbps

Upstream sync speed: 5.18 Mbps

Data rate: 5.18 kbps / 30.55 kbps
Maximum data rate: 5180 / 30547
Noise margin: 6.1 / 6.1
Line attenuation: 22.8

Also, for what it's worth here are the Wholesale test results using the test socket:

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

Do you have any extensions, and are they wired correctly, see below.

Any extensions should be totally dead once you remove the bottom section of the master socket.

If not, then you have "star" wiring which will affect your connection speed.

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

No extensions at all in the house. One phone socket, to which only the broadband is connected through a microfilter (no phone connected usually).

You need an engineer visit.

Are your tests done hard wired with Ethernet cable or wirelessly?

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

Tests are done on Ethernet with no other devices connected to the hub.

Re: Slower than expected BT Infinity speeds

The ethernet/wireless is irrelevant here. The sync speed of the router is below the minimum expected. An engineer is required.
