Smarthub problem

Go to solution

I have purchased a new smarthub that I am trying to install with infinity fibre to premises.  The fibre cable comes through the wall into the open reach modem via a green connector which I assume is some kind of optical connector, I have tried connecting the smarthub from number 4 lan port to number 1 lan port on the modem without success so after reading the posts here, I assume I need to take out the modem from the equation but how can I interface the green optical connector to the number 4 lan port ?

your help will be appreciated

You have the wrong type of smart hub, you need a special one for FTTP, which is supplied by BT.

This smart hub has a red WAN connector on it, which connect to the fibre modem.

See http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/59932/~/fibre-to-the-home%3A-check-your-wiring-and-se...

Under no circumstances interfere with the optical input to the Openreach modem, as you will create a fault condition.
