Suffering from constant latency spikes

I have been with BT for 2 years, and only recently (i.e. last month) I have been experiencing issues with my connection being very laggy with massive ping spikes, makes gaming unbearable (constant lag and disconnects) and has caused a number of online payments to fall through. Typically see lag spikes from 300ms to 1000+ms. This is the same whether via WiFi using the BT Smarthub, and when connected to either the white openreach box or the Smarthub via ethernet cable. Not what I expect from SuperFast Fibre 1 Unlimited...

I have called customer support multiple times, had two engineers wound my flat to look at the issue and have been sent a new Smarthub. Everyone keeps telling me that it is a WiFi issue, but no one seems to understand this is the same performance when connected directly via ethernet cable!

Has anyone seen similar issues, and have any tips on how to resolve this?

We are having the exact same problem and it's ruining our youview service too !!!
