For 18 months I typically got 44 Mbps download and 7 Mbps upload. About mid-December my upload speed dropped to 2 Mbps upload. Download speed has not changed noticeably.
BT checker confirms that my observable VDSL speeds are lower than expected as per the screenshot.
Can anybody help?
Welcome to this user forum.
Please delete your phone number, as this is a public forum.
Its too late to edit it now, but if you delete the image from your forum gallery, it will be removed from your post.
If you would then like to repost the information, without showing your phone number, then someone should be able to help.
Your original image should still be in your image gallery, you can delete it from there.
Select the image, then use the option to delete it. Its most likely in the private images..
Thanks, its just to protect your privacy, and posting personal info is against forum rules
To get some idea of your actual connection speeds, can you please post them here.
The information contained within your router management pages can really help others diagnose technical issues. To post these stats, open up a web browser and type 192.168.1.254 or BThomehub.home. Navigate to the 'Troubleshooting' Tab and then click on 'Helpdesk', you will then need to enter the admin password which can be found on the sticker on the back of BT Home Hub 4 and 5. BT Home hub 3 will have the sticker on the underside of the router.
If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager. Click ‘Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’
Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
Also just noticed that your downstream rate is higher than expected, so I would guess that the VDSL profile has altered, and its sacrificing some of the upload speed, to give you a faster download speed.
This has been reported before on this forum, and I seem to remember that it needed manual intervention.
