Hi good morning etc
It seems that my broadband speed has taken a bit of a jump.
The downstream speed on the router has increased from 60Mb to 74Mb although the upstream is still 20Mb.
At the computer, the received speeds are now 63.5Mb (was struggling at 52) although the up speed is the same at 18.7Mb.
No idea what they have done but it seems that my speeds are now at the contracted levels.
at a guess the DLM has activated G.INP which has lowered your noise margin probably to about 3db which has increased your connection speed which in turn gives a faster throughput speed.
this is standard and automatic
yes but your down speed is the one that has improved and I expect due to G.INP
Well, that didn't last very long!
Downstream sync speed is now down to 64.8Mb as of 2 days ago and received speed at the computer back down around 54-55 Mb.
It seems that BT is having issues with download speed at the moment according to the 'downdetector' site. Trying to watch Netflix yesterday evening meant an hour of the pizza wheel of doom for much of a one hour film.
A checkon speedtest.net showed a very wobbly internet connection.
