HI,
Am I right in thinking Superfast 1 ( 55/10 ) & 2 ( 80/20 ) prices are the same whether delivered by FTTC or FTTP please ?

Yep, indeed they are.

Hi @licquorice ,
Many thanks for your prompt reply.
The reason I ask it that our village MAY stand a chance of being upgraded to FTTP. So even those that don't need/want faster speeds can switch at no extra cost ?
I guess it will mean people being with, or moving to, BT and would it mean they would be locked in to BT for 12 or 18 months ?
Yes pretty much, there are other ISPs that offer FTTP but very few and far between I think.
They would not be locked in to anyone until they take out a contract with them.
You would be free to get an FTTP service from any provider.

Yes, but providers that will provide it are as rare as rocking horse droppings.
That is not really the point though is it. The fact remains they can contract with anyone who provides the service and would not be locked in automatically to BT in the beginning.
Sigh, read what I wrote in message 4
They are NOT the same price
If I upgrade to FTTP, I am forced to upgrade my internet speed, and thus my monthly cost.
I am staying with FTTC
My understanding is certainly that a given speed is the same price regardless of being delivered by FTTC or FTTP. Perhaps one of the mods could confirm that.
