Terrible Internet Speeds (repeating occurrence)

For the past few months, I've been experience horrific fibre speeds (and when I mean horrific, I mean it). There are periods of time when the connection itself is too slow to actually load google, let alone conduct a search. I've been in contact with BT for months over this and, if a record does exist of call outs, there would be numerous times on file which show a BT engineer has been called out and not found a fault at the home address.

It's getting absolutely ridiculous. I was previously getting speeds of around 50mbps and, until recently, my speed range had reflected that. Not only do I get low speeds, but the router drops randomly throughout the day, the longest network up time so far being about 8 hours.

I've just conducted a wholesale test and these are the results:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.4 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 10.72 Mbps-15.32 Mbps .
 Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 15.32 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 8.19Mbps
 Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10 Mbps

These are the stats from the smart hub manager as of 20:34 pm:

Re: Terrible Internet Speeds (repeating occurrence)

Have you tried using test socket with filter?

check line for noise. Dial 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone

are you using a wired connection when checking download speed?

enter phone number and post results

Hi @consmi24 I'm sorry to see you're having problems with your broadband speed, have you been able to try the quiet line test yet? Post back and let us know how you get on with that.

Re: Terrible Internet Speeds (repeating occurrence)

@consmi24   what about using test socket with filter especially if you have extension sockets in other rooms

quiet line test  your connection speed is low compared to attainable but the 6hrs connection time suggests possible line problems

Re: Terrible Internet Speeds (repeating occurrence)

I've just done a quiet line test, and there is some interference on the line, but nothing too loud.

I've tried the test socket and it's getting the same speeds. We have no other extension sockets in other rooms.
