Thinking of joining BT Infinity

I am considering joining BT Infinity since Virgin Media has become very un-reliable. Their Technical Support team is made up of a bunch of idiots, just yesterday I spoke to a guy who didn't even know what latency was.

Is BT Infinity truly Unlimited? I currently use upwards of 500 GB a month with Virgin Media, will this be a problem on BT?

What is the uptime and reliability like with BT Infinity?

What is BT Technical Support like? India Based? Skilled Knowledgeable Operators?

Re: Thinking of joining BT Infinity

Infinity Option 2 is the unlimited one, no restrictions like VM.

Take note there is trottling of torrent trraffic (depending on your knowledge it can be avoided).

Tech support is India based but better through here. If the community cannot help you will get the option of contacting the mods who will take ownership.

As with any other ISP there will be a minority who suffer problems (they do tend to be the majority on support forums though) but overall uptime and reliabilty is fine. Certainly better than VM.

Only peer2peer traffic is throttled, VPNs are not affected at least not to my knowledge.

If you aren't connecting wirelessly there is a problem with your broadband, I would advise creating your own thread for help. If that fails to help I would advise contacting the moderators as they will be able to help you.

Don't do it.

Speed issues aside, customer care is appalling when something goes wrong.
