Re: Totally fed up

Well an engineer turned up while I was out and checked the line and told the Mrs it was ok ... total time 5 minutes .

My final question is why is my ip profile

Download speed achieved during the test was - 6.66 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds 4.8 Mbps-6.86 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 6.86 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 1.01Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 2 Mbps

When before the fault where my d/l went to 0.26 and the people further down the road lost Internet all together my ip profile for the line was was 8.75 ?

Re: Totally fed up

your ip profile is based on your connection speed not the other way round so to get a higher profile you need a faster conenction speed

Re: Totally fed up

So why after 6 months of connecting at 8.75, bb crashes and is faulty for 3 days it is now stable ... though the hub has random disconnects and d/l is a steady 6.66 ?

Re: Totally fed up

your connection speed is 7086kbps but noise margin is high at 8.8db so if you can maintain a stable connection assuming engineer fixed fault then DLM should reduce noise margin which will increase your connection speed   the higher you can get your conenction speed the higher the profile the higher the possible download speed
