Town has the exchange but is only area without FTTC

Has anyone got the ability in the community to check if the cabinet that serves ab56 4sa is ever likely to get FTTC?

Our small town houses the exchange (Cullen) that also serves a number of tiny villages in the surrounding area.

Yet while even the smallest village with less then 30 residents the exchange serves can now get FTTC the actual main part of town of Cullen cant.

What's worse the main part of our town is where the bulk of businesses, hotels and residents are located.

The only thing the open reach search comes back with is that our cabinet is "under review" which could mean anything in between now or never.

To add insult to injury the exchange is only on ADSL Max for anyone not on fibre.

After months and months of waiting for the exchange to be fibre enabled and now that it has  the majority of the residents where the actual exchange is have been left frustrated.

Note: BT say I'm NOT on an EO line.

Tried that site and just comes up saying ADSL Max only available connected to Cullen exchange but openreaxh site says cabinet that serves postcode is under review.

When you entered your phone number did it show the cabinet you are connected to?

under consideration basiclly is cost effective and is there a power supply available

Nope, no cabinet number given just the exchange. All the postcodes in the main part of the town connected to the Cullen exchange are the same. Tried a few phone numbers from local business and neighbours in the area and all in the same boat. Yet if I go 1 mile down the road to the small village with about 10 houses connected to our exchange they're getting to place orders.

Crazy.

So these 10 houses must be connected to a cabinet and not the exchange as you appear to be

But according to BT I am connected to a cabinet. Got them to check the other day.

Strange it does not show a cabinet number when you run the dsl checker

Have just ried the Cullen Bay Hotel and it comes up with

Could it be that in the more sparsely populated areas, the vast majority of customers will be connected directly to the exchange ? With the cost of putting in cabinets running into the many thousands, presumably Openreach don't feel that putting in cabinets would be financially viable.......
