1. Tried it wireless, wired and used the gigabyt port and still same results.
2. Used numerous different speed testers and near enough showing the same

You certainly have removed most of the variables - not sure if you can switch back but contact the mods and ask. I think the estimates are based on known lines with similar characteristics not your line as such so a few lines will perform worse than predicted whilst most will meet or beat the estimates its down to luck of the draw.

Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

I was getting improvement in upload but not download speed.  Have just restarted the modem and HH3 and now getting:

I was quoted 66/16 so I'm more than happy with this.  Latency has gone up slightly from 5ms to 15ms but this might settle back down.  All in all - great improvement from the 2Mbps I was on in early Feb!! Smiley Very Happy

Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

I've gone through all the possible problems but I'm still getting 28mb/5mb. Last night I was on 38mb/8mb. The order says it's complete but my speed hasn't changed in the My BT section.

PC is fairly new too (i5 2500k - 8gb ddr3 - 120gb ssd)

Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

I was qouted 60/20, and getting results around the 74/15 mark.

So well chuffed.

One thing I noticed was that I had to disable my AV (kaspersky) on speedtests to show better results.

Though on downloading large files from newsgroups it's a steady 8.95MB/s with or without the AV running.

If the tests are by a wired connection rather than wireless something is wrong. Try to get your IP profile from the BT Speedtester if nothing improves probably query it with the mods but they are likely to be a little bit busy I suspect.

Nice PC specs very similar to my own which goes like extretia off a digging implement.

Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

There was a known issue with Ookla tests like Speedtest.net with Kapersky but I thought it had been fixed but clearly it hasn't.

Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

Hi thanks for your reply. I am using wired connection, I've even tried plugging the white openreach modem directly to my modem but no luck. If there's no change in a few hours I'll try putting my old HH3 back in as I'm using a netgear wrn3500 at the moment, but this shouldn't be a problem?

Just ran the BT speedtester to see my profile:

Very weird...

Also yeah, just upgraded the system a couple of months back, it flies! 😄
