Upgraded Broadband to Full Fibre question

Go to solution

Hi,

I've had BT broadband for a couple years now, and the maximum speed available in my area has always been approx 68mb download.

Today they've upgraded to full fibre in my area and can get speeds anywhere up to 900mb downloads.

My question is, if I upgrade today, will my equipment be capable of providing the new speed straight away? When placing the order it says an engineer needs to come, but I have the smart hub 2 already, so I wasn't sure whether I'd get the new speeds now or have to wait 2 weeks for an engineer which the website says.

Thanks

You won't get the new speeds until a new fibre cable has been provided to your house complete with a CSP ( box where internal fibre is spliced to external fibre) and ONT (optical modem) to replace your existing copper connection.
