I recently upgraded to Complete Wifi for an extra £5 a month due to wanting to increase my Wifi coverage. I'm currently a Superfast Fibre Plus customer, I've been with BT for around 2 years.
I got the Smart Hub 2 and Disc on the 23rd of May, changed it over from my previous Smart hub and the speeds seemed fine 74 download and 19 upload with 6 ping with the new hub. I had more jitter than i used to on the speed tests so i thought restarting the hub a few times would solve it, after doing so my speeds decreased and my ping went up, 67-69 download and 16-18 upload with 13 ping.
I've had numerous Live chat conversations where they say nothing is wrong and I'm within the guaranteed download range but clearly something is wrong or has changed because i was getting the previous speeds for 2 years without a problem. My line has been stable and up for 10 days now and nothing has changed or increased since the 23rd of May, I'm wondering if DLM has caused this and if my line is banded?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm stumped what to do.
Solved! Go to Solution.
post stats from your hub advanced settings then technical log information
enter your phone number and post results delete number but leave exchange and cab https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
your resets will certainly not helped your conenction and could be cause of the drop in speed
from your stats you have a 74/20mb connection and well within your estimated range as cab is ECI there is currently no G.INP boost
there is no guarantee on download speed
Looks like you've sucessfully fooled DLM into thinking you have a problem with your restarts.
Keep a stable connection and your speed should return.
Ok thank you all very much for your reply's and help.
I'll wait it out and see if it goes back to the normal speeds as before. I know it all varies but any rough idea how long it may take to see an increase?
could be 10/14 days but could easily be longer just maintain connection with no resets
