Upgrading from HH3

Go to solution

Hi all, my BT Infinity will be installed next week (finally after a 4 week mess about!). I wondered if in the near future I chose to upgrade from the HH3 what I should choose? Am I correct in thinking with Infinity the HH3 is just a router? That being the case I should be able to just buy a quality router rather than a router/modem?

Would I need any special details to change the HH3 to a third party, such as any login credentials?

Thanks in advance.

The HH3 is literally just a hub/router when used with infinity with DNS support. The openreach box on your wall connects to the internet and all the homehub does is receive the internet and send it out, as well as obviously assign ip addresses and what-not.

as long as you get a cable router and not an adsl router (so you can plugin your ethernet line from the infinity box) then you can get whichever router you fancy! 🙂
