Upgrading to Fibre 250 with Halo 1 with complete wifi

Hi, I am upgrading my broadband to Fibre 250 with Halo 1 with complete wifi. It was supposed to go through yesterday but had an email to say it will be done today and my new discs delivered tomorrow. My old plan I was on 160/30 and I used to get approx 140/29 on wired and 120/29 wireless which I was quite happy with. This plan according to my router is :-

Downstream sync speed: 329.103 Mbps

Upstream sync speed: 49.101 Mbps

I done a speedtest earlier on wireless and got 134/47 so I can see the upstream has gone up but the Downstream has only gone up slightly. Just done a test on my wired pc and got 135/48 so really no difference from wireless and less on downstream than I used to get. Will the speed increase happen by itself and maybe take longer into today or will there be something I need to do on my end. Btw the speedtest i used was https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

Thanks Colin

Re: Upgrading to Fibre 250 with Halo 1 with complete wifi

You system uptime is only just over 6 hrs, is this due to you resetting the connection? Have you checked for noise on your line 17070 option 2, best with corded phone? You may get a dull background hum with cordless.

Re: Upgrading to Fibre 250 with Halo 1 with complete wifi

17070 is fine no noise at all, we had a 5 minute power cut hence only 6 hours connection.

Re: Upgrading to Fibre 250 with Halo 1 with complete wifi

Ok it looks like the changover may now be complete as its saying in MyBt that my product is Fibre250 with BT Halo1. The issue is my speeds are still all over the place according to 4 speed testing sites (see below). Any ideas how to stabilise my speeds, I have not restarted the router at all as my son is doing online lessons at the moment.  Just to add these tests were all done on my pc in the study which is connected to the router with a wired connection.

Fast.com 160/42

https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/  191/48

https://www.speedtest.net/   158/47

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/broadband-test  276/47

Speeds on my pc in the hall with a wireless connection .

Fast.com  130/49

https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/  135/47
