Why is my Upstream only 2.7 Mbps?

I recently had Infinity installed and am only getting 2.75 mbps upstream? The 20 Mbps downstream is acceptable.

This is with the HH5 plgged directly into the master socket.

Here are the diagnostic screens.

Thanks.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC or WBC SOGEA) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

This line has jumpers in place.

For FTTC Ranges A and B, the term "Clean" relates to a line which is free from any wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions, and the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions.

Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 15-Sep-2014; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30-Nov-2014.

If the End User wishes to migrate from their current Broadband supplier they will need to contact the Broadband supplier they want to take service from to arrange for the service to be migrated.

Note: If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service.

Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number check.

Re: Why is my Upstream only 2.7 Mbps?

Have you tried connecting to the test socket to see if that gives better results?

Try a quiet line test in 17070 option 2, if any noise on the line report a phone line fault, don't mention broadband.

BT won't take any action within the first 10 days (except line faults) to allow DLM to do its' work although it is quicker than that normally. Your downstream at present is lower than the range A estimate and if stays there would need looking at.

Post back after the 10 days if it hasn't improved by then.

Re: Why is my Upstream only 2.7 Mbps?

Thanks for your help.

It is plugged into the test socket.

The line is quiet.

The Infinity has been in operation for 23 days and has not changed.

Who should I contact?

Re: Why is my Upstream only 2.7 Mbps?

It is the same whether the HH5 is plugged into the test socket or the Openreach VDSL SSFP Mk2 socket.

Prior to fitting the SSFP I found that the I-plate and extension reduced the speed to 8 Mbps. Since I removed the I-plate and the extension wiring and fitted the SSFP the speed is about 20 D/2.7 U Mbps whchever socket it's plugged into.

Re: Why is my Upstream only 2.7 Mbps?

can you post up to date stats as 20/2.7 is lower than initial stats  are you connected to test socket?  it's possible connectiion speed does not change initially but maybe the attainable speed and noise margin increases giving more scope for improvement
