Re: Why the Slowdown

When i first had Bt

In a post on this forum i stated that the speed was as follows

ping 12 ms - download 69.09 mbps upload 16.37 mbps

now its

45,86mbps download

Also since the problem Bt had a few weeks ago where the websites wouldnt appear certain websites i just cant connect to, ie resolving host then nothing.

Re: Why the Slowdown

Can you go into the web console for the Homehub and post your line stats from Troubleshooting/Helpdesk please?
Lines 1-13 will be enough

Re: Why the Slowdown

BT are definitely up to something. I was getting 53-56 mb download speed for the best part of a year. A couple of months ago I suddenly found my speed down to 49.5 mb.

Waste of time complaining because bt like all isps just comes out with rubbish such as are you testing wirelessly, do you have an extension circuit blah, blah, blah.

Re: Why the Slowdown

Lowering speeds don't necessarily mean BT are 'up to something'. BT Openreach may be connecting new FTTC users (possibly to BT Infinity or possibly for other isps) which can slow existing users because of crosstalk ( see dfenceman's post above). Or you or someone else may have installed some new equipment that causes interference.
