Your cabinet is enabled for Superfast fibre however you're not able to order fibre just yet.

Been waiting for some time to upgrade to fibre after buying a house in a new buikd estate and builder not shelling out for fibre cabinet. After many emails between builder of our estate and openreach and local MSP they agreed to upgrade to fibre and we finally got new cabinet installed last month for fibre after being in house for over 2 years.  Been checking the progress on openreach and today it moved to accepting orders but with below message:

Your cabinet is enabled for Superfast fibre however you're not able to order fibre just yet.

This might be because the length of the line is too long to get Superfast speeds. We're actively looking at other options

Now the new cabinet is installed next to current one I connect to and we are about 70yards from it so length of line part doesn't make sense. Any ideas what this message means and is it just a temporary error while wait to be able to order upgrade? A neighbour says they had an issue like this at work for a client and was to do with tags on the line needing updated. Not sure what this means but as we have been connected for some time the lines aren't new just the FTTC fibre cabinet is new.

Re: Your cabinet is enabled for Superfast fibre however you're not able to order fibre just yet.

Although the cabinet is there more work may be needed before it goes live. Off the top of my head there are tie pairs needed to be run betwwen the caabs, power supplied and most importantly a fibre cable connection. Finally it must be commissioned.

All of these things are done by different contractors.

You can ask Openreach directly HERE.

EDIT: Forgot to add the Openreach database needs to be updated to reflect availability.
