hmmm tough choice. Do Openreach pass on a charge if they dont find a fault? (assuming i dont mention having used an extension socket).
If there is no fault then no charge - and no profile reset
with the mess the wiring was I think there is great likelihood you will get charged for engineer visit especially if engineer sorts out wiring. if that happens upside is engineer can then reset your line
