I currently have a TPLink TD-W9980 which seems very solid and it works with the BT YouView box.
Before that I had a AVM Fritz 3490 which has some great features for telephony but it syncs slower than the TD-W9980 and the BT YouView isn't supported.
If you want nothing more than the fastest, most stable connection and things like IPTV and AC wireless are not required then you could do worse than a Fritzbox 3390.
I don't think you will sync much faster than that.
Connection rock steady since Jan 2014, no drops initiated by the kit. Alternative is a Dray Tek Vigor 130, (modem only) and router of your choice. Check that the router you decide on fully supports IPv6. The Fritz I can vouch for, running mine on native IPv6. Other forum members will have their own preferences router wise and may offer their suggestions.
Netgear D7000 - my replacement for the HH5 that gave me increasing problems.
Since installing, not one hiccup.
My HH5 started to be a **bleep** too, opted for TP-Link Archer VR600. Had it for 2 weeks now, solid connection.
