broadband keeps dropping

Hello

 

Can some one please help as i having problems with my broadband constantly droping. I never had any problems with the broadband until an open reach engineer did some work on the phone line.

 

When you try and speak to and advisor they say your bradband is expected to drop daily. In between the normal false promises of call backs that never happen.

 

Is this true as it never happened before when I was with Sky (how I wish i was not in a contract with sky so I could go back there).

 

I need a stable broadband is there anyone can advise if it is normally? If they cannot provide a stable connection do BT do the honourable thing and let you out of your contract.

Sounds like another fault needs to be raised

{Maybe the mods on here will also take a look if you getting no joy at the call centre}

Also check if there is anything up locally with openreach's new checker tool.

Finally also try the "Quiet Line Test" dialing 17070 {option 2} to see if their is any noise on the voice line.

If after all that ....the test's come back with no fault found;

 

Then possibly research using a openreach modem with the hh5 or get a 3rd party non-bt all-in-one.

 

These are the two main fixes people use on here for the hh5's mischief.

Have you tried the quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 you should hear no noise if you can hear noise then it needs reporting to BT faults on 151 with no mention of broadband in the call

thanks for the help.

 

I will try and raise another fault as you say rather than using the call centre as they are no help.
