Re: bt said my infinity 2 is self install

Go to solution

I have just had my BT total faster broadband activated, it was self install. Next week I'm having my BT business line put on the business equivelant of the total faster broadband but it is an engineer install even though for the domestic line I had to pay a £30 fee to move to FTTc, but for the business line there is no fee and the monthly charges are exactly the same. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Re: bt said my infinity 2 is self install

I went Infinity 2 from another ISP last Tuesday, and I self installed. The feedback I got from phone support, was "let's see how it goes" ??? I've recently had a new Mk2 socket installed, and Openreach line shifted and re-ported me from last ISP issues. It all went fine, but it could have been a nightmare . .

If you previously had a Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) connection from another ISP it is not unusual to do a self install of Infinity 2 because your line has already been proven to be working OK with FTTC.
