is it possible to have a multi port not installed so I can plug in 2 routers to share my fttp connection I'm seeing this as a potential way to setup a guest network completely separate from my main network(in the absence of guest networking on the sh2)

No
thanks just spoke to btfttp team who confrmed exactly that how ever apparent I can "slave" my sh2?
No idea what you mean by that.
sorry bt fttp team suggested I can plug as second router into the sh3 as a "slave" I don't think this is my answer but gives me some clues:
Much simpler to just get a third party router that supports a guest network.
If you did you use a second hub as a slave, it would need to be one with WAN port to give you a separate network and it would mean double natting.
Plenty of good routers out there that have a guest network. Tplink is a good make, reasonably priced as well
The problem is losing my brvsubscriction tv channels which apparently neeed a smart hub to Authenticate the connection.
No it doesn't, most third party routers are ok with BT TV.
The only service that requires the SH2 is Digital Voice
My Tplink works fine with BT vision.
