Re: new fibre service second engineervisit to activate fibre service

Alright, sounds good.

You’ll need these PPPoE connection details if you’re doing that:

Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com

Password: [not required, but if it asks: BT]

Thanks

Don’t usually need an Engineers appointment on FTTP New Builds.

Its possible there’s an ONT Mismatch and they need one to visit to correct it. That’s just a best guess though, without seeing the reason BT or Openreach want one to visit.

So looks like the 2nd engineer visit was created in error 🙂 might even have service by Friday but the person I spoke cast doubt on using my Apple airport  as a router is WAN port instead of a super hub this sounds wrong to me!

The ONT has a WAN presentation, so unless your Apple device has a WAN port, it will not work.

It needs to convert the WAN into a  LAN, with a private address range. It has to perform NAT (Network Address Translation) to do that.

Then it should work. I am not familiar with Apple kit.
