once again a upload speed only point 5 Meg

Although my landline copper ( possibly string )  only allowes 17M down and about 5 M up. Since Friday up-load has slowed, and this after a day of internet dropouts ( even when i was not using any device on it ? )  and now its only  point 5M ... Q , do i complain or wait for it to improve , phone seems noisy (hiss) again ! Same problem was a bad copper pair last year ... BT line phone (800 800 151 ) test says no problem  with my phone line ?

You will not get 5Mbs upload speed on ADSL, you must be on VDSL, is that correct?

ADSL2+ will usually give a maximum upload speed of about 0.8Mbs, if you are lucky.

Thanks for reply..  Not sure .. its a BT hub 5 if thats any help and Infinity box down the road ?

You must know whether you are on normal broadband, or fibre (FTTC) broadband, as it will show on your bill, what you are paying for?

The HH5 works on either.

Please can you provide the connection speed, as described below.

 Router Stats
The information contained within your router management pages can really help others diagnose technical issues. To post these stats, open up a web browser and type 192.168.1.254 or BThomehub.home. Navigate to the 'Troubleshooting' Tab and then click on 'Helpdesk', you will then need to enter the admin password which can be found on the sticker on the back of BT Home Hub 4 and 5. BT Home hub 3 will have the sticker on the underside of the router.

When using a Hub 3, you will see an option at the bottom right hand corner to select 'full details'. click on this, copy the info displayed and post the results. If using a BT Home Hub 4 or 5 navigate to 'Troubleshooting' then to 'Logs'. You will then find two lines which will state 'DSL noise margin' and 'DSL line rate', copy this info and include this in your post.

If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

Then you are on VDSL not ADSL.

Please post connection information.

Your phone line should be quiet, so you probably have a line fault that the BT line tester cannot detect.

You should not see anything about Desktop Help.

Make sure smart setup is turned off.

It is not BT Desktop help that is being asked for.

It is how and where you will find your router stats.

If you have a Homehub 5 can you post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the Homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/
