ping

Hi, i currently play fortnite at a competitive level where low ping is a huge advantage. I live in the UK (Wales) and the competitive servers are in Germany (Frankfurt) so i get 35ping on virgin media. People have told me that BT is the best for ping speeds for gaming. Since BT does not do FTTP in my area (they will in 2021) I am wondering if swapping to BT will give me better ping with just fiber 1.

The servers i need good ping to are AWS servers. Thanks.

Re: ping

Only you can decide that. Anyone else is on a different connection which will have no relevance to what your connection will be.

It's pretty much the same on VM. Here's a South Wales ping to the servers.2020-06-24 15_24_52-CloudPing.info.png

As you can see the ping is worse that yours with the same ISP.

BTW you can run the same test HERE.

Re: ping

They are making FTTP here in 2021, do you think its worth just getting BT then upgrading to FTTP when it comes out since i am 10000% getting FTTP when its available

Re: ping

Again, that is entirely up to you.
