Re: "Upgraded" to BT Fibre Essentials - "Downgrade" in speed.

The speed is terrible and well below estimated range

are you using the test socket with a filter even if you have a filtered faceplate to see if that increases speed. When you use test socket can you repost router stats

when in test socket check there is no dial tone at any extension socket whether in use or not

Re: "Upgraded" to BT Fibre Essentials - "Downgrade" in speed.

Thanks imjolly.

It's comforting that someone else believes this is dire.

The line to the router does come from the BT socket and has a faceplate on it (two inputs on the front). I will try to circumvent the filter and remove the faceplate, but be assured that no other internal extensions run off this main socket.

Since the service has just been installed, I have requested that the engineer returns. We'll see what the next 7 days brings.

Many, many thanks.

If that's the case then normally you don't need to check using the test socket, but we just need to confirm.

The OP can request an engineer free of charge in these circumstances within 21 days. How long has the OP been upgraded?
