Re: slow broadband

If you get line noise when making/receiving a call then report phone fault to 151

Re: slow broadband

I'm trying to understand my hub stats - so ...

Line attenuation:17.6 / 39.0
Signal attenuation:17.6 / 41.9

If I had a short line with few connections then the two values for Download would be the same as the two values for Upload and then does this mean that I have a problem with my Download line like faulty connections along the line or interference from cross-talk etc?

Noise margin:5.9 / 12.9

Likewise for the noise margin, should they both be the same and close to 6.0?

Re: slow broadband

with that high attenuation that just shows you are a long way from the cabinet and will get lower that average speed

noise margin would normally be about 6db but your down is higher because your connection speed is far lower than attainable speed (relatively speaking)

if you have line noise on calls then report phone fault to 151

Re: slow broadband

The difference in attenuation is due to the differences in frequency used for upload & download so they will never be the same.
