third party router

should i enable bitswap? Enabling Bitswap could cause issues with the DLM?

It doesn’t on my Draytek, but it’s enabled by the exchange equipment.  Not me.

The DSLAM decides if bitswap is implemented or not, not you. All the setting does is enable it to be implemented.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear.  I was trying to avoid getting too technical.

Draytek is a brand of router.  I use a Draytek 2762.

As Liquorice says, whether bitswap is used or not is determined by the equipment managing the line at the exchange.

@WSH  The DSLAM is at the cabinet not the exchange.

@pippincp. Yes, quite right.  I thought somebody would pull me up for that.

As I said, I’m trying to keep it non-technical for the OP.  Does the OP even know what a cabinet is, let alone a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer?  Not everyone is as knowledgeable as us and there’s something to be said for not blinding people with science.
