wrong post code Openreach

Go to solution

Hi

We have tried to upgrade to fibre broadband but rejected since March.

After a lengthy communication with BT and Openreach, we were told we cannot get fibre broadband from BT as the quota for BT was full.  In the process of application for fibre broadband which revealed that our postcode was incorrect on Openreach database and therefore we cannot get fibre from anyone as it stands.  We know that fibre broadband is available in our area, as our neighbours of either side of us have it.

Following the advice that only the current provider can instruct Openreach to correct data on their system, we contacted BT and raised a complaint.  We had three lengthy online chats in June but despite promises of help the system had not been corrected.  We then spoke on telephone, quoting our open complaint.  This resulted in the correction of wrong post code on BT's database, and were assured the Openreach database would be sorted by 16 Jul.  However, when we tried the upgrade application, we got the following message; 'Sorry - your telephone number and your postcode do not match'.

It appears that despite our many contacts with BT, we still cannot to get any result.  Can anybody help?

Hi @tonyburton thanks for sending over your details. I've contacted Openreach to get your address records corrected. This normally takes 7-10 days but as soon as I have an update I'll drop back and update you.

Cheers

The availability checkers on Openreach website says it's available and advises us to check with the providers, as the exchange is Fibre enabled. We've re-tried BT and other providers to see if it works. And unfortunately, the applications were all rejected including BT. So, we're completely stcuk again. Can you help on this one?
