I have a NAS device that I have been backing up my websites too.
I am unable now to connect to them - error message:
"Unable to connect to FTP address `xxx.xxx.x.xxx` on port `21`."
This has been working - now, suddenly, is not. I have port forwarding setup correctly for ftp.
Any suggestions, please?
Try re-assigning the device in the hub, mine does it from time to time as disconnect my adapter it resets the mac code. Then the hub will have it under a different mac ID...
Thanks for that - yep tried that already - no change.
Has your external IP address changed?
You should use a DynDNS type service to connect to a CNAME rather than IP.
Followed an earlier suggestion - setup a free dydns from http://www.no-ip.com/. Entered the relevant details in the BT Home Hub 3 dydns settings. Connection from all of my sites now working as they should.
There is a utility that can be run that schedules checks on the ip address - I suspect this is not required if the dydns details are directly entered on the hub.
I'm guessing your external IP had in fact changed.
It can sometimes do this daily so I would set it to update from the hub and not bother with the utility.
One thing to bear in mind with a free no-ip is that you have to log into the account at least once a month.
