Why do different browsers have different speed test results?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I've tested my speeds on different browsers with wholesale bt tester and I get lots of various results:-

With IE - I get 23.86 Down, 1.91 Up

With Google Chrome - I get 24.92 Down, 2.03 Up

With Firefox - I get 24.24 Down, 1.98 Up

With Opera - I get 23.98 Down, 2.00 Up

Why the different results, should they not be all the same? It seems and obvious choice by the results Google Chrome is the best for loading web pages and basically everything, the other browsers seem to hang terrible first and then rush to load all of a sudden, why this? I mean which browser am I suppose to choice with the accurate result?, cause with those results there is over a meg difference between them.

You can test  in the same browser, the likely chance of it being the exact same are very small.

Won't make any difference, it's just your throughput at that current time. The connection speed always changes every second, it will never stay the same.
