BT App in Play Store

Go to solution

Hi,

New to BT and I'm trying to download the mobile app from the play store.

Using a UK purchased phone and BT SIM, the play store won't allow me to download stating "this item is not available in your country"

Anyone have a solution for this?

Re: BT App in Play Store

Hi @PaulG25,

Welcome to the community and thank you for posting. I'm sorry you are having problems downloading the BT App.

If you are running a VPN, you would need to deactivate that in order to download the app as the VPN could be showing you in a different country.

If you're not running a VPN, it would be worthwhile checking that you have your phone location turned on.

To do this -

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Security & location. If you don't see "Security & location," follow the steps for older Android versions. If you have a work profile, tap Advanced.
  3. Tap Location.
  4. Turn Use location on or off.

I hope that helps?

Thanks

PaddyB

Re: BT App in Play Store

Thanks Paddy,

I found the root cause was the Location information in the Google settings.

I'd previously used my phone in the Middle East and the payment information was in Local Currency.

Once I change this to UK credit card info, the problem was solved and I could download the app.

Thanks for your help,

Paul
