Nightmare in Japan, BT sim did not work. 30 calls to BT operators, still did not work.
Now in Thailand BT sim does not receive texts, never had a problem with other companies but BT, once again does not work.
Calling operators to sort it out, nothing.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I like being with BT but may have to leave.
How can I company as big as BT have worse service overseas than crummy TalklTalk?
Oh no its doing it again!!
When I call my mobile the message says 'This number is not in service' if it is on. I cannot even pickup voicemails.
If it is switched off, then I can receive messages. The same problem as Japan.
How can a BT not work in Thailand?
Is there any way to fix this? I want to leave my phone on and also get messages.
I'm sorry your BT mobile isn't working in Thailand, I've asked the mobile team to investigate. I'll post back as soon as I know more.

Same problem as Japan, my customers call and are told my numebr is no longer in service as long as the phone is on.
And there is no indication of if there are voicemails.
TalkTalk is the worst network in the UK, and they don't have this problem.
To be honest its a fairly new issue to BT Mobile although that doesn't help your current situation. And again its only when these things happen that the mobile team can actively look at what the issue is.
The fact that it is intermittent seems to show that the account is set up correctly, as is the mobile. The one thing that is for sure, is that if the moderation team can help resolve it they will.
Have you tried 'manually' selecting a network? To me it sounds like your phone auto selecting a network is causing the issue/
I had the same issue but when i went in to settings and selected 'manual' selection and choose a different network to the one that had been automatically selected, bingo, it worked fine.
Not saying this is the case but worth a try i assure you
For 6 months I've been tring tyo fix a BT roaming problem, spoken to 40 operators, yes that's right 40.
In Japan the sim would not work, when it was on BT message to customers was 'This number is no longer in service'.
In Thailand same problem, but there is a £67 bill I have to pay, now the operator tells me that I have to pay for voicemail messages even if the phone is turned off.
Is there any way to solve this?
I have spoken to another 4 people today.
