BT have randomly requested all my services to be cancelled!

I moved from Sky back to BT on 16th May. Got an email on 28th May saying that all my services were due to be cancelled on 6th June 2018.

I called BT yesterday to:

1. Ask who had requested the cancellation, as I clearly had not! They did not know.

2. To request the cancellation of services to be cancelled, i.e. I wanted to keep my services.

So what happens they disconnect my BT mobile yesterday! What complete incompetence. Does a mod want to take this up and get me reconnected before I write an official letter of complaint!

Hi @Uma1r

I’ve asked the moderator to come have a chat. They should be along shortly.

Re: BT have randomly requested all my services to be cancelled!

Well with no response from the mod here...decided to call BT. They are sending a new SIM with a new number and couldn’t even put me on the same plan as before!

So a few days without the mobile and all the inconvenience! Poor show.

Re: BT have randomly requested all my services to be cancelled!

Hi @Uma1r

Sorry to hear the moderators didn’t get back to you as fast as you would have liked. The moderators including @NeilO look after the community as well as offline issues and it can get busy.

Normally once a service has been cancelled for what ever reason  it’s hard to reconnect the same number, and in your instance the plan you were on may no longer be available. As it seems a new sim has been ordered the moderators should be at least be able to explain why the service was cancelled. So I’ve flagged this to them to come back and have a chat.

Re: BT have randomly requested all my services to be cancelled!

It can take the mods a 'couple' of days sometimes to act on your query as they work on a first come first serve basis.

They will action your query as soon as it hits the top of the pile.

Re: BT have randomly requested all my services to be cancelled!

It would be good to actually hear why the services were cancelled in the first place and by whom.

I understand the mods are busy (judging by the number of people disconnected by BT via google) but if your mobile has been cancelled randomly and then you need to take a new contract/number the least BT can do is compensate for the inconvenience. Just saying.

@Uma1r

I don't want to keep posting or speak for the moderation team but they are very good at resolving issues. Once they get to your case they will contact you and discuss what happened and if it was due to an error what can be done, and they will feed back to the relevant departments any concerns.

I appreciate that you are frustrated but the moderators are here to help.
