Anybody know why calls from my BT mobile windows phone arrives at destination as number withheld. I have never asked for this and I have had the phone for a couple of years but only just discovered that it happens.
Have you been in touch with the BT Mobile Chat team to see if they are able to help?
Also check the call settings on your phone.
Hi Keith
Thanks for your reply. I will try that but I have never had much success with BT chat lines, they are ever so polite and patient but never actually seem to have the answer to the query.
I can get around the situation by prefixing a call with 1470 but I would rather find out why it is doing it. Normally you have to have the number withheld feature set up by BT but I never asked for it.
John.
If chat cannot help you, then please post back here. I assume you have checked all the setting on your phone?
Yes. There are no settings on my phone to create or undo any withheld number facility.
Chat line unable to help. Don't seem to understand what I am trying to do.
I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.
OK. Thank you.

You have a Windows mobile phone?
Show/Hide Caller ID
1. From the Start screen swipe left.
2. Scroll to and tap Phone.
3. Tap the Menu icon.
4. Tap settings.
5. Under Show my caller ID to, select the desired option from the drop-down list.
Thank you. Problem now sorted. Never saw that part of the settings before.
Great advice posted by @Carlusha. Thanks for helping out .
Cheers
