Existing BT Mobile Customer

Go to solution

The BT Shop offer mentioned in  this BT Mobile section is new, although it was expected. There's still no official announcement.

As an existing customer with a BT supplied HTC Desire phone, a new micro sim is required.

The Shop doesn't make things absoulely clear, but what are the procedures involved in ordering as an existing customer?

Is the SIM card provided with phone?

Package would be the same as the existing.

Sorry, the announcement has just appeared on the BT Web pages. (A Google search got me there first).

Looks a bit clearer now.

Hi Ribblelancs,

Yours is the first Mobile post we’ve had. Thanks for that. Smiley Happy

When you place the order you’ll go through your MyBT . You’ll see during the order journey that we’ll send you a standard / Micro SIM. Both are supplied together so would be suitable for most phones.

Cheers

David

Re: Existing BT Mobile Customer

The existing BT mobile network uses the Vodaphone network, I am assuming that when BT move to EE, existing customers will have their number moved to the new network?

I also have a HTC Desire with BT mobile, as part of the BT Anywhere package, which forms part of my BT Broadband package.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for posting. Yup, you'll be able to keep your number. Take a look at the Mobile FAQ's for details on that.

Cheers

David

Re: Existing BT Mobile Customer

David,

Thanks. Actually I am quite happy with my old HTC Desire, and have been handed down a spare one in case it goes faulty.

The younger generation seem to want the latest phones each year Smiley Wink

I was more concerned about the porting of the 07777 xxxxxx numbers from Vodaphone to EE, as its important I keep the same number. People have had problems porting this range in the past.

I am assuming that BT Mobile have this in hand.

Hi Keith,

There shouldn't be a problem with the 07777 number range.

Re: Existing BT Mobile Customer

I wonder what will happen to the existing contract terms. At present I am on the 50 texts 50 minute package which is included in my broadband costs, as I have the BT Broadband Anywhere package with a special discount, I also pay £5 a month for 500mb data.

I do not want to change my broadband package, as that would result in me losing my Broadband Talk number.

If things remain as they are, then I would still be paying the same amount, but with a lower call allowance. As I make very few calls on my mobile, this is not a problem.
