Under Marketing Prefernces it only has email, phone and text messages - it doesn’t have mail.
As regards GDPR it does not require companies to have consent in order to send snail mail. They only need consent from a person to communicate electronically with them – by email, SMS, fax or telephone. They don’t need consent to send them physical mail.
That’s bad news. That is a loophole in GDPR that needs to be fixed.
i still expect BT to know of GDPR in the help search.
Are you still getting junk mail after the mods assistance?
If you are getting junk through your door you can do several things..
If its from one company contact them directly..
The Mail Preference Service
Royal Mail Opt Out...
Royal Mail - Stop Junk Mail Opt Out..
Or get a Stop Junk Mail Sticker...

How is it a loophole. The whole point of GDPR is about how electronic data is stored/shared and how companies communicate with you electronically.
Could you help me stop getting mail through post as well please?
@AEngall Welcome to the BT community, thanks for taking my call this evening. As discussed, I have contacted the relevant team about your request.
Thanks
There is no option to STOP unsolicited mail when I log on to BT.com as referenced in one of the answers.
no wonder BT is so expensive. Stop the mail shots.
So how do I get my name removed from the list?
Hi @Ronsonboy welcome to the forum and thanks for posting. Sorry that you are unable to update your mail preference on your online account. You can still update your BT Marketing Preferences by completing the form on the link.
Cheers
John
