Joined BT Mobile. Disaster number port

My number port started yesterday as scheduled and BT even sent me an email at midday confirming the port was sucessful but it clearly isnt and I now cannot receive incoming calls (callers get a 'you've dialled an incorrect number' message). Contacted them via Live Chat in the evening and I was informed it would all go through after midnight. No change at 9am so called them on 150 and I have now been told that it will be the 8th of August - 5 days away!! - before i can receive calls.

 

I rely on my mobile for work and would never have gone with BT if I knew this would happen. There is also no indication whatsoever on their advice page that the port can take more than a day. Ridiculous and in my opinion, mis-selling.

 

Why oh why did I ever think it was a good idea to move to BT?!
