Texting with BT WiFi calling

I recently changed from O2 to BT as O2s Wi-fi calling does not support texting. As we get very poor/no mobile signal at home this was important to me.

however it is still not reliable with BT and I find I cannot send texts still. I have turned off and back on again but this didn’t help.

please can anyone help me?

Many thanks

Re: Texting with BT WiFi calling

For the past few week myself and my wife have a difficulty sending text message and having them fail. This is with WiFi calling both on and off.

Since BT use the EE network and their implementation of it I believe that text will also be carried using the IMS for it.

Try using only mobile connection and see if that helps.

Re: Texting with BT WiFi calling

Hi @Bmcleod and @foddersin,

I would recommend considering one of these:

https://www.shop.bt.com/products/bt-signal-assist-40009142-DJHZ.html

It generates a local 3G signal from your broadband with the main purpose of providing a signal for calling, but of course it also allows you to send and receive texts. I've had mine for over a year and never had a dropped or missed call, I find it to be better than wifi calling.
