I was wondering if @DarrenDev had been able to confirm whether or not the 720p cap that was placed on the Fire stick during the trials for that device on the HD channels was permanent. My own device appears to be restricted to 720p, but there was some suggestion that it could be lifted so that it would only apply to those devices that were affected.
My Fire Stick 4K is my go to device for BT Sport Ultimate, but I also have a Now tv stick and wondered if this was also restricted to 720p. It appears as that the BT Sport channels look better on the Now TV stick, whereas the Sky Sports channels look better on the Fire stick. I have no evidence to back up my perceptions though. I’d prefer to use the Fire stick for all of my sports channels if there was any possibility that the 720 cap could be lifted.
