BT TV App Error Code WP025

Hi,

Tried tonight to watch something on the BT TV Player for Windows. I have previously used the same PC (using IE) to watch programs. Tonight it requested that I download the BT TV Player App, which I can log into no problems, and use a browser to choose the programme. The program (either live, or catchup) plays for about a second, and then an error pops up:

Hi @MagicTorch have you checked out this help page BT TV App Error Codes for advice on this error code?

Post back and let me know if this helped fix the issue or if you are still getting the error code.

Cheers

Re: BT TV App Error Code WP025

Hi,
The error code does appear there, stating:
If you’re on the web:

Try refreshing the page and trying the action again
If this doesn’t work, try closing your browser down and loading on a new browser session.

I've tried these suggestions. Also tried different browsers. Always the same outcome, plays for about a second, then the error code.

Cheers,

Jamie

Re: BT TV App Error Code WP025

Hi,

Tried that with Edge, IE and Chrome. It is only since the BT TV Player app has been downloaded. Worked fine with IE before. The error code is listed, along with 100s of others, all suggesting the same thing. I'm guessing no-one else is having the same issue.

Cheers,

Jamie

Re: BT TV App Error Code WP025

Hi again,

Still not resolved. But the  error code has changed to WP012, and now doesn't play the first second or two. Gets to the point where it should play (i.e. after any Age Restriction message).

Cheers,

Jamie

Re: BT TV App Error Code WP025

Hi @MagicTorch,

Can you try refreshing the page?

If this doesn't work, you may need to update your version of Silverlight. For information on the latest versions and how to do it, go to www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight >

Thanks

Exactly the same scenario... Four hours to BT but no resolution!

Re: BT TV App Error Code WP025

I gave up in the end. Latest version of silverlight was installed, latest version of web browsers etc. Unfortunately, I used the price rise to get out of the contract. It was a shame really, I was an early adopter of BT Vision, received it free for a long time as reward for testing it. Same with Youview for a while too. Not saying I'd never go back to it mind, though did much prefer BT Vision to Youview.

Magictorch,

What I don't understand is my two laptops are fine, just the desktop that generates the error. If it carries on I might just follow your lead!!
