BT TV app - wrong/missing channels

Im in my house - not miles away - and have setup the BT TV App on my iPads.

Here is the issue.

Region on the App is set to Oxfordshire.

BBC1 on Channel 1 is totally correct everywhere and lists BBC1 Oxford.

Channel 3 on my tv set and on my BT set-top-box - is ITV Meridian.  That is correct for our region and always has been.

Channel 3 on the app lists ITV Central - along with the programme variations for ITV Central and not those Meridian programmes we actually get.

Channel 7 on our tv and our BT box is  That's Oxfordshire.

Channel 7 on the app is missing completely.

So my question is - how do I get the correct TV Guide on the app to match by BT set-top-box?

Hi @ozsat

I think considering this post and your other about the Apps on the TV box that it may well be worth having a chat with the TV Online Team.

Well - I tried that and they said " I will forward it to the concern team who will be working on this. Once it get fixed you will get the required channels automatically."

That is basically the same reply to my original report about two years ago for the same issue - which was never fixed.

They say they think the problem is that Freeview are providing me with the wrong region Smiley Frustrated

Perhaps somebody with the app would be able to check the following?

If you select 'Oxfordshire' as your region:

1: what programme is listed in the channel guide at 6pm on channel 3.

2: what channel do you get listed on channel 7.

Hi @ozsat

I have the app, and changed regions to Oxfordshire.

Channel 3, as you said came up central. I had to change it to South East to get Meridian on channel 3 on the App. And no listing with channel 7

 

Let me send a message to someone see if I can find out anything..

The same issue can be seen at https://www.player.bt.com/#/tvchannels/fulltvlistings

If you change to SouthEast then Channel 3 is correct - but Channel 1 is then the wrong region.

Yup, I have noticed I have just been checking the regions too. So it look ITV & BBC regions do not match

Hi @ozsat

If you try re-pairing your phone or iPad to the set to box, this should set the regions to the same as main set top box. I have just done this and it worked for me...

Give it a try and let me know.

Nope - still wrong on channel 3 and no channel 7 after repairing.

Don't forget your region was correct in the first place.

Exactly the same issue can be seen on the BT website at https://www.player.bt.com/#/tvchannels/fulltvlistings

You don't even have to login there to see the wrong region displayed.

EDIT: Channels 34, 35 & 50 are also missing on the app - most likely more if I keep looking.

Good morning,

Really sorry about the issue both you are experiencing.  I can imagine its rather frustrating Smiley Sad

I have kicked off an email this morning to our app team to find out if they are aware of any issues.  I have highlighted your comments but I may be back looking for more info if the team require it.
