BT Ultimate - series link issue with HDR

Go to solution

@DarrenDev?

I guess this is down to the BTtv EPG not being updated in a timely manner?

So I set a series link for the live Premier League football on channel 465 starting last Saturday which recorded fine.

For this coming Saturday the Liverpool game was only listing on channel 433 and not 465 - so the link decided to record on 433 instead.

But now the Liverpool game is correctly listing on channel 465 but the series link has stayed on channel 433.

So how do you get a series link for the HDR version?

I can try to find out. Can't promise a quick answer though. There's still a chance that it'll correct itself before the match.

I've manually reset back to 465 now 🙂

That suggests that the same Series CRID identifier is being used for the EPG data on the 433 and 465 channels for the programming.

Which shouldn't really be the case as although the programme is the same it would be like recording the SD version when the user wants the HD version.

This week has correctly linked to 465 - but then the event was correctly listing in there which it had not been the two previous weeks.

@DarrenDev- I've given it a couple of days to sort itself out this time - but it still wants to record 433.

I've cancelled 433 and reset to 465 again - but I'm not expecting it to last.

Also, the two channels do cause issues with the series links with each other - most likely due to the id reason mantioned above.

It is a pain you can not set a series link for the HDR matches.

This issue has now been "fixed" - the sCRIDs for programmes on the HDR channel have been differed from the SDR channel.  If you schedule to record on HDR, it'll now only match programmes in HDR.

This does mean though, that if you want to record all matches regardless of HDR or SDR, you'll need to make sure to manually schedule on SDR when HDR isn't available.

It's not the outcome I'd hoped for, but it's the only one offered.

At least I'll be able to record all the EPL in HDR in UHD 🙂    Thank you
