BT fails again.

So Being a Moto GP fan I was forced into having to return to BT. At far greater cost than my previous supplier. I can't get Infinity so have to watch on device app then connect device to TV. I find this cumbersome and impractical. The adverts load instantly but to actually get to the point where I can watch the race takes ages. So much so I was considering giving even more money to Sky to watch the sport that my wife and I enjoy so much. Whilst looking at this option BTs own site advised me I would be able to get BT Sport via their set top box, the site checked my speed availability and said all was OK. So I parted with the cash for the box and the plug socket adaptors to link thru to the hub which is another part of the house. On the grounds that I'd be staying with BT as I'd be able to see BT Sport without a load of Faff then I also gave them the 12 month line rental in advance. So the kit arrives, plug everything in and guess what no BT sport. I waste a couple of hours trying to figure it out, finally I give up and call BT. I was promptly advised I can't get BT Sport on the you view box as the speed is too slow. Then Why the heck did their tester say that I could!. So they patch me though to the help line. Sorry can't help you because you ordered the kit on line, you need do do an on line chat. So the Website lies to me, The helpline can't help and I need to waste more time typing. So I ask to speak to a senior manager. Initiallly they try to put me through but soon return to me to advise that the senoir manager won't talk to me, it seems and this is what I was told "they are running around dealing with more important matters" So the discussion of their own incompetence with one of the people who pays their wages isn't important. And this is the customer Care team ! This evening I thought I need to get this sorted, Log back into the BT site, find my way to the online chat section and guess what, I can't do an on line chat now because the online chat team aren't there. Silly me I imagined I could type all the info in then get a response maybe tomorrow? But no they aren't there so I can't contact them. So yet another failure to deliver. Well I was in the mood to do the typing so here it is guys, instead of typing it just to BTs help team I'll put my feelings onto their own forum where any prospective customers will be able to see it. Would I recommend BT to anybody else ? No whilst I've got the ability to speak or type I wont. Yours Mr V Angry

Re: BT fails again.

Hi Are you receiving any error messages? Have you tried connecting the Youview box directly to your hub via the provided 10m LAN cable? or is this too far? thanks

Re: BT fails again.

OK Thanks for the updates.and well done for volunteering. No error messages, Lot's of channels available but not BT Sport which was the only reason I'd paid for the kit. I just want to turn the TV on and watch the Moto GP racing. I have yet to speak to a motorcycle racing fan who is pleased that BT spent so much on the rights to the racing and then makes it so darn difficult to watch. Then to add insult to the injury then they charge us an additional £5 a month for all the hassle they've created. Tonight I've managed to have an on line chat, I tried this on Saturday but It seems the queue was too big and the wait time just kept going up. Tonight I've raised a complaint, got my complaint number and now await an e mail response. Why is it so difficult ? The website takes ages to load but the adverts for things I have no interest in load instantly.

Re: BT fails again.

Have you taken the assistance offered by NeilO who is a BT moderator and could help to resolve your issue?

Or JayNix - another BT employee - who has asked a fault-finding question?

Re: BT fails again.

Hi Telecom89, Yes I replied to Neil O in post above. To bring that up to date I was told I'd get a response in around 36 hours if I remember rightly, that was on the 20th, its now the 29th and still no email response from BT. As for Jaynix response, I didn't respond to that as I thougtht I'd made clear in my original response, BTs telephone helpline told me I live in an area where I cannot get BT Sport (despite the BT Website telling me that I could, which is why I bought the kit ) So presuming the BT helpline operative was correct then how the box is connected is not relevant as the problem is external to my property. For the record, it's connected to the BT Hub via BT'S own mains adaptors as the hub is upstairs and my TV is downstairs. I'm about to attempt another onlin chat but given the record so far I'm not optomistic.
