no matter what i do i cannot access the BT sport channels on 57 and 58.
i am losing the will to live over this and really can't face yet another frustrating call with the help line
What do you get when you select one of the BTS channels? If it's a message that the channel is encrypted then your card isn't working and you'll need to call the helpdesk 0800 111 4567 again. If that gets you nowhere please return here with details of what they said and/or did.
Looks as if you have the multicast build by mistake. Can you select channels 508-512?
Are you missing any other channels, say 19 (Yesterday) or 24 (ITV4)?
Some people have found that purging the channel list can help recover missing channels. Remove the aerial and run a scan; this will clear all channels. Then replace the aerial and scan again.
EDIT: @Hunter Just seen your post. The OP doesn't have Infinity.
channels 19 and 24 are missing. purging has had no effect on the channel listing.
i am seriously **bleep** off with this now
Digital TV channels are broadcast in groups called multiplexes (MUXs). Freeview channels 19 & 24 are in the same MUX as the BT Sport channels 58 & 59 (see COM6/ARQ B here). For some reason you're not getting that MUX from your transmitter. Does this checker add anything?
ok, have checked the multiplex grouping and my local transmitter for that group and it shows good signal strength. i was able to see 19 and 24 before i took sports and before BT changed the firmware on my box (wiping out all of my saved recordings of course). i was able to see 58 and 59 for a short period after the firmware upgrade but no more
i have no idea where to go from here other than to Sky
As far as I know the box's Freeview tuner shouldn't be affected by the upgrade. It looks like an aerial/Freeview issue, but I suppose the box could be faulty. See if you can get the missing channels by bypassing the box and plugging the aerial directly into the telly (assuming it has its own Freeview tuner).
