I can see that Amazon are rolling out a software update today, which is causing confusion. The BT TV app itself needs to be updated on the device, however we're still waiting for Amazon to approve the fix. This is unfortunately taking longer than normal, so still isn't in the App Store yet. Sorry guys!
See above - unfortunately Amazon are still processing the update, and haven't released it to the App Store yet. Iv'e chased them to try and get this through ASAP.
I spent 45mins in conversation with Amazon yesterday and the advisor was not even aware there was a problem with the app. After trying various fixes which didn't work ,I was advised to factory reset the firestick,which I haven't done yet but will try later.
Please don't waste your time with a factory reset @mal49 ... it will work until your device picks up the system updates again overnight tonight, but you'll also consume a new device slot on your account.
I'm in contact with Amazon at the moment, and they're trying to get the update pushed through ASAP. They're struggling with staff shortages due to COVID-19.
I can confirm that the update is now in the Amazon App Store. It can take up to 24 hours for devices to pick up the update automatically, and unfortunately Amazon don't offer any way to forcefully check for updates to apps.
You can uninstall and then reinstall the app to pick up the update straight away, or you can wait for it to update itself.
