Cannot access BT sport with Surface RT

As windows Surface RT doesn't support silverlight...i'm unable to view BT sport live on my surface pc tablet.

Please can you advise what plans are in place to enable this for us RT users??!!!

Re: Cannot access BT sport with Surface RT

I have a suspicion that BT may not have any plans.  Windows RT has been a flop commercially, with hardly anyone buying it.  It says everything that Microsoft haven't even bothered to port their own plug-in to it!

I suspect Ectophile is right, but it's a shame as the RT is actually a really good device.

It's worth mentioning the iPad doesn't support Silverlight either.

Re: Cannot access BT sport with Surface RT

But you can watch BT Sport using the dedicated Apple app on an iPad with no problems.

Re: Cannot access BT sport with Surface RT

Microsoft are moving to HTML 5 rather than plug-ins, which you will see in IE11 - Netflix is prepped for this. Whoever decided at BT to use Silverlight was not thinking of the future.

The RT is a top device - the only downside is that applications need to be installed through their store. BT could resolve this thread's issue by creating an app, much like they did for the iPad.

Sadly this is incorrect. Microsoft have stated that Windows 8 and Windows RT have enabled Flash content to run by default.

Re: Cannot access BT sport with Surface RT

Although windows rt has been a flop (I have one and its pretty good but think it should of been priced cheaper to start with). BT could still make a winrt app that targets both RT and normal windows.

they could even have the app on the Xbox one whilst using 80% of the same code.

That's a massive amount of people in total they could target without much work.

A Flash app would work equally as well, if not better.
