Re: Freeze payment for BT Sport

It seems Sky are now honouring any discounts.

Rather than freezing the subscripition - they actually add a credit to the account which is equal to the subscription.

No sorry. It took me almost an hour to get through. Maybe try to call first thing in the morning if you can.

Re: Cancelled BT Sport but still have to give 30 days notice

I called the other day and was told I’d have to pay to get out my contract (£60). This kind of service from BT does not surprise me. Sky on the other hand have sent me an email saying I can pause my sky sports subscription, which I did after 2 clicks and immediately my bill was updated and I wasn’t charged a penny for doing so. Shame on BT.

Re: Freeze payment for BT Sport

I called to cancel BT sports 2 days ago and was told I’d have to pay to get out of my contract (£60). Disgraceful, but not a surprise with BT!!

Re: Cancelled BT Sport but still have to give 30 days notice

Sorry but where in the package description does it say you signed up for live sport only? I get that this isn't the best of situations but sport is still being broadcast on the sport channels albeit not live so how can they be in breach of contract?

I have had 1 month free credit agreed after speaking to someone so they are offering something

Re: Want to cancel BT sports

I am self-employed with no work or money coming in, I have tried to call & cancel bt sport because there simple isn't any. You are paying for something you are not getting.
BT will not answer the call if you are phoning to cancel. When my contract is up in September I will be cancelling phone, broadband and sport & will never go back to BT. They will be the losers in this as well as me.

This is 100% not the case, right now there is a global pandemic which has seen almost everyone's lives impacted, you being self employed are one of them, BT employees are human, a lot of companies have staff in isolation or people unable to work as normal and now kids no longer at school, plus a surge in calls, so whilst BT contact centres are open as normal, there's fewer people answering a higher demand.

Sales/retention advisors can't just switch to faults calls, they don't have the training to do so, the sales and retention advisors are still doing the same job, when they do speak with someone I would imagine the first few minutes of the call is listening to customers complain about the length of time it took to get through, which then has a knock on effect.

The number to call is 0800 800 150 and the opening hours are :

Monday - Friday 8am until 9pm
Saturday - 8am until 8pm
Sunday 9am until 6pm
