I am hoping someone can solve my problem here
I have a Samsung smart TV with built in Freesat. We do not have subscriptions to either Sky TV or BT Vision. We watch TV via Freesat, this means the Sky dish cable is connected directly into the back of the TV.
I spoke with BT yesterday who confirmed my old Sky viewing card is still active and that I could access BT Sport via my old Sky box which I still have from my Sky subscription which I terminated 2 months ago.
My problem is that I cannot work out how to connect the Sky box to the TV without losing Freesat....
My instinct would be to connect the Sky dish cable to the Sky box then run an HDMI cable to the TV, but that loses the Freesat signal to the TV...
Can anyone help me?
There is two cables from the dish at the wall (I assume for HD recording) but the company that connected my TV only connected one to the TV.
Could the Sky box be used as a Freesat box without a Sky subscription?
If there are 2 cables you can plug one into the skybox and use it to watch BT Sport over "Freesat From Sky".
Oh..! That sounds interesting but far too easy for it to work for me...LOL Normally solutions for my proiblems are a lot more complexed!!
I will give it a whirl.
Then just run an HDMI cable to the TV?
I assume then my TV will still get a feed from the dish for Freesat?
Will I just need to change the 'source' on the TV when I want to watch BT Sport via the Sky box?
